Methinks you've been hacked. There is no penalty for storing your money.

If money disappears out of your storage, I would say reset your password asap and contact guildwars support. You were probably keylogged..

Maybe an insider.
Someone you live with may have fooled around with your stuff. I know this guy... his brother always stole his car while he was asleep.... |

hacker? i'm sure a hacker would take all 100k. AND, it would be more than one hacker--it's not possible to just...take...the money. You can't drop the money(unless you buy 1000 dull carapieces or whatever and drop them), you have to take it via trading with another accomplice.

There's no "hackers" that "hack" accounts, and even if there were they wouldn't steal 11k and leave 89k.

Or maybe you were just tweaking too hard one night and got sleepy and withdrew it/spent it. You can't always believe your memory all the time...especially when time eats it little by little. ;(

I don't think it might have been a hacker. He would've taken all 100k out. At least that's what I would do . Could've been you one night, really sleepy or you forgot a tranaction you made.
For good measure, you should change you password. Make it really tough to figure out. But before that, scan your PC for any Keyloggers, and while your at it scan for viruses too . |

It's very common to see people saying "I was hacked!!" but any online game at this moment has a very complex security, so it's highly unprobable that someone would actually discover your password using brute force.
So in effect, "I was hacked" means one of the following: 1. I downloaded a trojaned bot/hack/whatever. 2. My guildie/bro/friend/family member has access to my account, and unfortunately they don't seem to worth my trust. 3. I forgot about something I myself did (such as selling /giving away something). This is what "hacked" means |

If they left you a note saying this:
"You have been hacked. Well, not really "hacked", just more like DL'd my trojan. I stope 11k, spared you 89k. Have a good day! " I think you should contact ANet. haha, seriously though I highly doubt you someone went on your account and took only 11k. Storage doesnt steal money, either. You must of withdrawn it without knowing. |

I keep leaving 100k on random chars and forgetting they had it, i'd go through ALL of them before taking any action.

If it was a hacker and Anet cares, I'm sure they can look into your account and find out the IP numbers that used to log in. And if they cared after that, they can find out which ISP the foreign IP number is from and get the ISP to find out which person used that IP number at the time of the log in. But last time I heard of action like that being taken was record companies tracking down people who download music for free.
If it was a hacker that took only some gold but not all, maybe he/she was hoping to do this every once in a while instead of taking it all. It may have taken him/her a long time to finally gain access to an account and he/she wants to invest in it over time. If you use the same password for other things like email or something someone you know may know the password to, that may have something to do with it. |
